A magical day

Today was such a magical, Christmas-y day. We all went out to a Christmas party for Ryan's work and Santa Clause came to the party. As soon as he came in Elias rushed across the room to see him and said Ho Ho Ho. It was so cute. Santa of course then gave him a candy cane which he ate in its entirety.
After the party we went to the national zoo to see the zoo lights. It was really neat. There was a train room which Elias loved. I think he could have spent the entire evening watching those trains go around and around. We did manage to see all of the lights. He loved watching people skate in the "ice" rink and was very upset when we took him away from that spectacle.
There was also a person dressed up in a panda suit dancing in a plastic snow globe. Weird, I know, but the kiddies loved it and Elias was very excited. When the panda-guy got out of the globe and headed towards a building after his show, Elias ran right after him, but when I picked him up for mr. Panda to hold him he really freaked out, silly baby.
Anyway, the coolest part was that when we got on the metro to get to where we parked, who do we see as we walk into the train, bur Santa Clause! Elias started saying Ho Ho Ho and just staring at him. Then Santa got up and Elias got so excited he was giggling. Santa took a little leather pouch out of his pocket and gave the baby a Santa coin. How magical! Silvia got a picture of it.
It was a perfect ending to a day full of Christmas wonders :)
